The Cisneros Project is located in the central area of the department of Antioquia approximately 55 kilometers northeast of Medellin within the late Cretaceous (approx. 88.0 Ma) Antioquia Batholith, it is a significant intrusive body within the Central Cordillera belt of Colombia.
The Cisneros Project covers 5,630 hectares of prospective, structurally deformed, granodioritic-tonalitic rocks. Up to sixty (60) artisanal gold mines with a long history of gold extraction have been identified on the property. Gold mineralization typically occurs within sulphide-rich (pyrite, chalcopyrite) quartz veins and breccias that are controlled by significant primary and secondary regional faulting occurring on the property.
Antioquia Gold Inc. has been actively exploring the Cisneros Project since 2007 and to date has drilled 209 drill holes amounting to 45,400 meters of drilling. The company has made nine (9) individual, separate gold discoveries; two (2) of which, the Guayabito and Guaico deposits are advanced stage and are currently being developed into an underground mine.
The Guayabito deposit is a multi-zone, en-echelon style deposit with individual zones achieving strike lengths of 180m, depths of 300m and localized true thickness up to 5.0m. Significant drill intercepts include; GYB11-052 14.7 g/t Au / 4.0m and 5.3 g/t Au / 7.2m, and drill hole PC10-026 9.3 g/t Au / 5.1m. All zones occurring (15 have been identified to date) at the Guayabito deposit remain open along strike and to depth. The potential to add to the existing fifteen (15) zones identified is excellent as several drill hole intercepts at depth, along strike and at shallow depths require more drilling to further delineate these intercepts and bring these to a zone category.
The Guaico deposit is similar to Guayabito as it is a multi-zone, en-echelon style deposit in which zones identified to date have strike lengths up to 200m, have been identified to a sub-surface depth of 300m and localized true thickness within individual zones is up to 3.0m. Significant drill intercepts at Guaico are; PC09-020 15.6 g/t Au / 6.9m; GCO11-009 19.6 g/t Au / 3.5m and GCO11-007 34.1 g/t Au / 2.0m. Currently, five (5) zones have been identified at the Guaico deposit; all remain open along strike and to depth and the potential to define additional zones at Guaico is excellent.
